Well, Microsoft has activated the brake lever on there DRM magic tricks. They have said that they are reversing the majority of things people were mad about. That’s cool. It shows consumers that they still have a voice. I hope they make good on it. They have a reputation for being shneaky. You do still have to connect to the internet to “SET UP” your console, whatever that means. Time will tell.
I’m not convinced. For now I feel like the damage is irreparable, and I’m still not getting one. At least at first. I’ll still go Sony for now. I don’t like that they tried to push this. It just shows that they will get away with whatever we let them get away with. The fact that they tried to pull off something this restrictive means that they thought we would swallow it right out of the gate. I’m glad we didn’t. I’ll get a PS4 for now, and Microsoft can think of it as a giant time out for them acting up. They will act better the next time if they want my money.
But, at least they listened FINALLY to the people, the consumers, the people that pay their bills. I think people in “to big to fail” companies like that forget where that money comes from sometimes. We as the consumer just have to remind them.
Power to the people!
